About this role:

Following our receipt of government designations allowing us to perform conformity assessments for software and AI medical devices in the UK and Europe, we are now scaling our team of Clinical Assessors. Whilst our existing team continues to develop Version 2 of our proprietary assessment tooling, we're hiring more Clinical Assessors to perform assessments on the next wave of cutting-edge Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

Your responsibilities:

  • Own and optimise the processes by which Scarlet qualifies, authorises, and monitors the competence of Scarletonians who assess medical devices
  • Analyse and implement regulatory requirements related to personnel competence
  • Collaborate with the team to develop training materials related to the applications of software and AI in healthcare
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to build upon Scarlet's proprietary platform
  • Work with regulators to design the optimal competence criteria for assessing software and AI medical devices

The key skills:

  • 3+ years in operations roles - ideally in a start-up or scale-up environment
  • A thoughtful problem solver who is committed to working from first-principles
  • Hands-on coding experience
  • You are comfortable with or interested in technical concepts/software engineering environments
  • You have excellent written & verbal communication and preach a MECE style of communication

Desirable skills:

  • Experience optimising processes and products within a regulated environment
  • Experience working on SaaS or Platform products
  • Experience designing or contributing to the development of retrospective and prospective clinical trials
  • An interest or passion for healthtech
  • Someone who also pushes themselves outside of their work to grow
