MAIN PURPOSE / CONTEXT

Our Manufactures have embarked into the Industry 4.0 journey to accelerate digitalization and support more connected operational use cases bringing more efficiency and quality, based on latest technologies for Industrial IoT, Automation, No/Low Coding platforms and Analytics.

The scope of our manufacturing operations covers 30+ sites in Europe on which 20+ in Switzerland and various business activities mainly based on watchmaking & jewellery, from traditional to more industrialized practices.

The role is embedded in Richemont’s Group Technology Product Domain “Operations & Services” and part of the Manufacturing Product Area.

As an Industrial Platforms Solution Architect, you will be responsible for translating detailed business, technical and architectural requirements into a solution blueprint that defines the integration between the industrial applications landscape for a wide variety of use cases, in line with the Enterprise Architecture guidelines. You will also be a key contributor to the continuous improvement, design and support of the different components of our IIoT Architecture and Platform as well as exchange feedback about unmet needs with enterprise architects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation and integration of the technical architecture in a product team based on business strategy, business skills, business requirements and along the defined Enterprise Architecture guardrails
  • Ensures that architecture principles, best practices and architecture guidelines in the developed Product/Solution are adhered
  • Supports during solution definition, provides guidance on architectural designs and strategies to improve Product/Solution performance and scalability
  • Manages & develops the architecture for the product and delivers the architectural design for products, translating business needs into a solution blueprint representing the end-to-end technical solution
  • Leads the implementation and integration of technical architecture in product team
  • Develops integration processes and interface requirements
  • Support and continuously improve the IIoT architecture end-to-end. Including field connectivity, edge to cloud components deployment and maintenance, as well as security.
  • Lead and consult key users as well as the internal teams on the topic of IT and OT convergence for manufacturing industries.
  • Recommends and provides target architecture, architectural strategy as well as vision and processes, within the guidelines specified by the Enterprise Architecture Office.
  • Selects the technology stack based on the given requirements and constraints
  • Provide technical expertise with a broad set of development tools/technologies
  • Understand global IT strategy and business needs to define high level architectures
  • Provide recommendations in the selection and use of technology, such as “build or buy”
  • Analyse complex issues and propose solutions to solve them
  • Collaborate with other department teams to ensure architectural solution can be suitably translated into effectual and robust implementation
  • Ensure third-party products fit in the organization ecosystem
  • Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure
  • Review, challenge, and validate architectural solutions
  • Good understanding of data modelling concepts and ontologies / frameworks such as ISA95
  • Broad knowledge in networking and connectivity both on OT side (OPCUA and MQTT standards, PLCs and industrial systems (CNC)) as well as the IT side (REST API, PubSub, TCP/IP, Subnets, VLANs, Security and Firewalls).
  • Experience with SQL and Time Series databases, cloud storage services a plus.
  • Experience with ERP/PLM systems integration will be a plus

DIMENSIONS

  • 5+ years of experience as Solution Architect within a multinational context, preferably in a domain in contact with an industrial environment in Production and as well in IT.
  • B.Sc. or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • Architecture of technical products & domain solutions (e.g. SAFe Architectural Runway)
  • Architecture Development Methodology and Frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
  • Diagramming and visual communication skills are key; good knowledge of UML is a plus
  • Proven technical knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly or executive language at different management levels up to C-Level
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in software architecture and development lifecycle
  • Hands on experience with technology concepts such as APIs (sync and async), micro-services, Cloud hosting, ERP (e.g. SAP), Event-driven architecture
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Deep knowledge of platforms, Infrastructure and network architecture, Development standards
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with strong knowledge of Agile Product management principles (certifications is an asset)
  • Organizationally savvy
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Highly self-motivated and focused
  • Autonomous, being able to learn quickly in a complex environment
  • Proficiency in English and French is mandatory
