We are now looking for a talented and motivated Junior Payroll Specialist to help us improve our Payroll operations, support our continued business growth, and assist our global customers. This role is essential to our customer operations service and will work closely with our Payroll Manager.

For this position, you don't need to have previous working experience. We appreciate young and energetic contributors willing to show their capabilities and want to learn how to build an international tech business. This position is well suited as the first job of an ambitious recent graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist payroll records: new hires, leavers, and contractual changes.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Respond to employee and customer inquiries related to payroll matters.
  • Help ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and social security.
  • Assist in managing employee leaves and absences.
  • Support the maintenance of the benefits plan and expense reimbursement procedures.
  • Help prepare reconciliation reports and support audit procedures.

Requirements

  • Based in Portugal
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • Eligibility for IEFP internship
  • Strong English and Portuguese oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Be deliberate, thorough, and rigorous when executing assignments.
  • Proficient with corporate productivity tools, including email and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to self-manage by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • A can-do attitude and a team-first player.

Nice to Have

  • International experience, either on a personal or professional level.
  • Familiarity with Portuguese labor laws and payroll processes.
  • Experience in a fast-growing business environment.
