Job description

We are looking for a motivated and eager individual to join our team as a Purchasing and Procurement Technician. No experience is required, but we are seeking someone who is ready to learn and grow in this role. You will help support the company's procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are sourced efficiently and in line with company guidelines. This role includes assisting with supplier communications, learning to manage vendor relationships, and coordinating with our international offices to support the company's needs.

This position is based in the city of Maia in Portugal. 

Responsibilities

  • Stock management and identification of purchasing needs;
  • Research new suppliers;
  • Analyze commercials – monitoring and reporting on margins and profitability of purchased products;
  • Periodically reviewing product quality and commercial terms (price, payment and credit conditions) to grow the supplier relationship or stop it;
  • Request preliminary quotes;
  • Negotiation and purchasing with national and international suppliers;
  • Create purchase orders;
  • Check received goods - perform a quality control check on the goods to verify they are correct to specification;
  • Foster the relationship by maintaining regular reviews and ongoing communication with the procurement team to establish a mutually beneficial partnership with the supplier.

Must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Relations or a related field;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
