Joining the Digital Products Portfolio

The Digital Consumer Engagement Products portfolio plays a critical role in delivering PMI’s Smoke-Free Future. We are enabling digital services to our consumers and retailers by building platforms to communicate our vision to broader society. Together with talent from multiple business and technology functions across our footprint, we are delivering a premium experience for our consumers.

When you join this team, you will work in a dynamic, diverse, and warm environment. You will be primarily focusing on defining your Digital Product vision, regularly engaging with your customers to gather feedback and understand their needs to maximize value. You will be part of all stages of Digital Product incremental value delivery.

What’s the purpose of this role?

As Tech lead, you will collaborate with the solution & domain architect in making the Digital Product vision, reality.

You ensure that the solution getting implemented adheres to the design & you constructively challenge where you believe improvements and opportunities exist.

You are relentless in your pursuit of engineering excellence, even when that means challenging the status-quo. You are the champion of delivering solutions that meet the needs of the business design team and are loved by your users and customers (e.g. through user research or user-centric design). You’ll be acutely aware that transformation requires a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality.

Your day-to-day

  • Establishing a strong product-oriented culture in the development team with focus on quality, NFRs (To name few: security, scalability, and maintainability).
  • Lead technical discussions within the team and be the go-to person for the team for guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Understand, implement, and measure key business and engineering metrics around performance, quality and availability and work regularly with the team continuous improvement.
  • Foster and build a culture of actively engaging team members in engineering and design discussions.
  • Adhere to the processes and practices around code quality, conventions, and standards defined at IT Consumer Commercial (ITCC).
  • Help delivery teams in grooming and prioritisation of Technical Debts by working with Solution Architect/Product Group Architect.
  • Leading and contributing towards organisation wide tech initiatives and transformations.
  • Mentoring and coach development team members.
  • Help the organisation in building a top-quality team by participating in hiring initiatives.

What is needed to succeed in this Role?

  • Extensive experience in building / configuring a software.
  • Experience in managing Loyalty solutions or similar CRM related solutions.
  • Foundational knowledge of APIs (REST) design, development and maintenance.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • Good communication skills. Tech Lead should be able to articulate thoughts and ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record in managing highly available and scalable distributed systems.
  • A keen eye to improving development quality metrics with regards to coding practices, code coverage, SAST (Static Application Security Testing).
  • Good stakeholder management, ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with AnnexCloud, having hands-on development skills will be a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of all common AWS Cloud technologies, Knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows.
