Hardware Engineer

Description

You will be immersed in the day-to-day activities of designing, prototyping, integrating, and testing new hardware for Nexar. As a key member of the Nexar HW team, you will contribute to the creation of new cameras and accessories by prototyping new ideas, driving initial integration at the low-level hardware stage, and reviewing ODM schematics. You will be hands-on with prototyping, schematic and layout reviews, firmware coding, and utilizing maker platforms to bring innovative hardware solutions to life.

Responsibilities

• Product Schematics: Review new product schematics and support initial testing of new hardware (Thermal/RF/Mechanical) and coding/integration of new hardware accessories at low level
• Design and Prototype Automation Systems: Design automation hardware and software and prototype new hardware concepts
• Hardware Issues: Debug hardware issues in existing products
• ODMs: Collaborate with ODMs to ensure design and production standards
• Documentation: Document and report on prototyping and testing outcomes

Requirements

Technical skills & qualifications

• Experience in hardware board design
• Hands-on experience with sophisticated test and measurement equipment
• Knowledge in electronics components, PCB and PCBA design and assembly process, batteries, radio frequency (RF)
• Proficiency in working with CAD software
• Coding skills in C/C++, Python in Linux and RTOS environments
• Familiarity with maker platforms

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with ODMs
• Basic spoken Mandarin
