The Financial Risk Mngm Coe, part of EDP Corporate Finance, is intending to recruit a Financial Analyst.

What you will do:

  • Identify, assess, analyse, conduct stress testing and scenario analysis on the financial risks of which the FRM Team is owner, namely Forex, Interest Rate, Liquidity and Credit/Counterparty (Financial Institutions) Risk;
  • Assist on the preparation of the necessary recommendations to be presented to Top Management to support decisions on hedging matters/risks mitigation. Assuring that the analyses and recommendations of risk management strategies are translated into a synthesis (word, powerpoint) and that cover all matters involved that is useful for the management to base their decisions on;
  • Assess economic, financial and accounting impact of the executed strategies;
  • Support the negotiation of ISDAs and related documentation;
  • Price and trade/negotiate money market instruments , spots, financial derivative instruments (Forex and IR) and other structured products for the EDP Group ensuring full compliance with the relevant/required market rules, laws and regulations, with all of the company's own rules and regulations, to ensure that all trade/deal request comply with the policies (Financial Management Policy, Risk Management Policy, Counterparty Risk Policy, etc.) and to ensure proper record-keeping;
  • Validate, analyze and report the mark-to-market of all the EDP Group Forex and IR derivatives;
  • Ensure hedge accounting relationships comply with IFRS9, prepare the necessary hedging documentation and assess hedge ineffectiveness of new and existing relationships;
  • Prepare sensitivity analysis on forex and interest rate risk to be disclosed on the quarterly and annual Reports;
  • Liaise with many internal contact points such as the General Secretariat, Legal and Compliance departments, Accounting Teams, Internal and External Audit Teams;
  • Liaise with Middle Office and back office to ensure smooth settlement of transactions carried out by the dealing room;
  • Maintain an up to date, good understanding of the financial markets, in particular the derivatives market, monitor the markets to identify opportunities and threats, conduct research on economic indicators, market trends and financial news;
  • Cultivate collaborative and productive relations with banks/counterparties;
  • Prepare regular reports on hedging portfolio, risk metrics and performance.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in business, economics, finance or a quantitative discipline, e.g. statistics, mathematics or physics, with excellent academic record;
  • Professional qualification such as CFA Level 3 or FRM (or equivalent) is a plus;
  • Between 1 and 5 years of professional experience in:
  • Risk analysis, trading, middle office or back office roles;
  • Related financial field such as Treasury.
  • Experience in handling trading systems such as single-dealer and multi-dealer platfoms (namely 360T, FX All), Bloomberg, Refinitiv (former Reuters) is a plus;
  • Action-orientation: ability to identify and resolve issues urgently and thoughtfully;
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and keep track of various deadlines in a fast-paced, high demand environment;
  • Results orientation: ability to stay organized and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
